Emergency Response Team (ERT) Emergency Response Team (ERT) training is designed for the specific responder who has been identified as a team-member in the mitigation of a wide range of emergency responses. In addition to the already learned skill-set of medical response, this responder will become familiar with the inter- workings of a team approach using the Incident Command System (ICS) to effectively communicate, respond, and in some cases mitigate an emergency prior to and/or in conjunction with local authorities. *Students enrolled in this course must have a current CPR/First-Aid certification. Topics covered in this course are as follow:
• Radio Protocol (effective communications and radio use) • Incident command system (ICS) • Earthquake preparedness (before, during, and after the next big quake) • Blood-borne pathogens (OSHA certificate) • Fire extinguisher training (extinguisher use and basic fire mitigation awareness)
